| Hi Friends,
This month we take a look at the color Pink. I'm not sure if you've caught on
yet but I've made an attempt to coincide the Color of the Month with the season.
Black for October... i.e. Halloween, Orange for November... Pumpkins seem to be
symbolic of the fall harvest and Thanksgiving. Red and Green are of course the
colors of Christmas (looking back I should've done just green so red would still
be available) which brings me to January and the color Blue, well I chose blue
because January is Winter and blue is a cool color so... It was the best I could
do...
Now we're in February... The month of Love... or if you are single... like me...
its the month of "why are you still single"... any way we've already used Red
so to replace it we are going to look at Pink. Pink is a color you will find
widely used in design, mostly in accent items but it's also a great color for
walls given the right shade.

Properties of Pink
The 4th Chakra is known as the Heart Chakra carrying the sensibilities of compassion
and humanitarianism.
Pink is the color of universal love. Emotional love of self and others, friendship,
affection, harmony, inner peace, has both fire and air elements. Gentle, Casual
and Approachable.
When this Chakra is blocked we experience: Anxiety, fears, anger and frustration.
Add PINK color gemstones when you want:
-calm and serenity
-neutralize disorder or dampen frustration
-relaxation
-acceptance
-contentment
Pink is the color of universal love. Pink is a quiet color. Lovers of beauty
favor pink. A pink carnation means "I will never forget you".
Pink Energy:
Pink is a combination of red and white. The quality of energy in pink is determined
by how much red is present. White is the potential for fullness, while red helps
you to achieve that potential. Pink combines these energies.
Shades of deep pink, such as magenta, are effective in neutralizing disorder
and violence. Some prisons use limited deep pink tones to diffuse aggressive behavior.
Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance.
Put some pink in your life when you want:
-calm feelings
-to neutralize disorder
-relaxation
Pink gem stone properties:
Pink gemstones can be used to promote love, self-worth, order and protection
from violence or aggression.
Carry or place pink gemstones around your home or office to stimulate love and
beauty.
Wearing Pink:
Wear pink when you want to present yourself as a peaceful, calm person who is
not threatening. The softer shades are very feminine and darker shades will alleviate
feelings of friction.

Cotton Candy and Little Girls: Pink is a softer, less violent red. Pink is the
sweet side of red. It's cotton candy and bubble gum and babies, especially little
girls.
Nature of Pink: While red stirs up passion and action, studies have shown that
large amounts of pink can create physical weakness in people. Perhaps there is
a tie-in between this physical reaction and the color's association with the so-called
weaker sex.
Culture of Pink: In some cultures, such as the US, pink is the color of little
girls. It represents sugar and spice and everything nice. Pink for men goes in
and out of style. Most people still think of pink as a feminine, delicate color.
Using Pink: Both red and pink denote love but while red is hot passion, pink
is romantic and charming. Use pink to convey playfulness (hot pink flamingoes)
and tenderness (pastel pinks). Multiple shades of pink and light purple or other
pastels used together maintain the soft, delicate, and playful nature of pink.
Add strength with darker shades of pinks and purple and burgundy.
Using Pink with Other Colors: All shades of pink get sophisticated when combined
with black or gray or medium to darker shades of blue. Medium to dark green with
pink is also a sharp-looking combo.
Using Pink in Other Design Fields:
Feng Shui Use of the Color Pink
Language of Pink: The use of pink in familiar phrases can help a designer see
how their color of choice might be perceived by others - both the positive and
negative aspects.
